Salt Lake City Mayor Backs Gay Candidate

Salt Lake City's mayor is calling for religious diversity on the city council.

To effect some change, Anderson is backing lesbian lawyer and Equality Utah chairwoman Jane Marquardt to unseat incumbent Councilman Eric Jergensen.

If Marquardt won, she would become the city's first openly gay council member.
