My other problem with him was that back in the early days of the Stranger he was involved - under another name - in some theater productions locally. When these were reviewed by the Stranger there was no acknowledgment of the involvement of one of their own columnists.

The thing about Dan Savage (or Kenan as I once knew him) is that he's just a provocateur. Sometimes that serves a greater purpose. Sometimes it's just self serving.
