Former Homosexual Highlights Starbucks' Strong Support for Homosexuals
(The Daily Dose of Drivel from the American Fascist Association)

A Christian activist in California who has left the homosexual lifestyle says the coffee giant Starbucks has some troubling ties with homosexual activism.

James Hartline, a former homosexual, notes that the first time he became aware of Starbuck's support for homosexuals was during a local San Diego "gay pride" festival. He says the company chose not to pull its sponsorship from the event, even after being notified that convicted pedophiles were involved in the homosexual celebration.

Also, Hartline asserts, Starbucks is a big supporter of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, or GLAAD. And this year, when that group held an awards ceremony "to honor Brokeback Mountain and homosexual, lesbian and transsexual success stories in the media," he says, "Starbucks was a major corporate sponsor again of that event."

GLAAD has an extensive history of doing two things, the Christian activist contends. The group works tirelessly to promote homosexuality and "gay," lesbian, bisexual, and transsexual acceptance in the media, he says, and "additionally, from a political perspective, they have a long history of going after and boycotting Christian enterprises -- groups that are opposed to homosexuality."

Oh Miss Hartline ... it's time to put down the coffee cup. You get waaaaaay too wound up about homo-seck-shuls when you're overly caffienated!

3. This Is Good News. Let Us Support Starbucks.
I have to ask. What is "a former homosexual?"

If I understand the writings in the bible, Jesus hung around with all the types the Christains condemn. Am I confused or what?

4. More pitiful propaganda.
I like the bit about 'convicted paedophiles'. The wingnuts seem to think that all they need to do is utter the magic word 'paedophile' and it will discredit whatever they're attacking.

Presumably, the wingnuts informed GLAAD that paedophiles would be attending the Gay Pride festival. Presumably, GLAAD said something like, 'well, we're not in a position to screen everyone who turns up and, anyway, unless their is some law forbidding their attendance, there's not much we can do about it.' (actually, the wingnuts probably didn't inform anyone, or have any evidence of what they were asserting, but why let facts get in the way of 'truth.') Naturally, this means that GLAAD supports paedophiles and is fully committed to the corruption of America's youth. But of course.

Exactly! I mean, you could use this to discredit anything. Oh my God, the American Idol audience as pedophiles in it. How about the state and county fair? I am sure there are probably a few pedophiles roaming around the oh-so wholesome 4H displays of prize Holsteins and needlecraft and their nubile attendants. Hello, we know the REPUBLICANS probably have more than a handful of peds running around.

5. James Hartline is a NUTT CASE
Edited on Wed May-10-06 07:59 PM by FreeState
More info than you ever wanted: http://www.hillquest.com/community/jhartline.htm

some basics:

It’s because of his experiences that he says he knows there is an evil conspiracy afoot in Hillcrest — an organized effort among homosexuals to lure individuals into the gay lifestyle, drugs, prostitution and pornography, and to intentionally spread the AIDS virus. “There is a whole network of this very dark criminal activity going on in this neighborhood,” Hartline says.

During the past year, Hartline has also ratcheted up his criticism of politicians he deems to be corrupt or hypocritical due to their stances on a variety of so-called “moral issues.” Hartline, a Republican, has found fertile ground in his local party, chastising Republican officials for endorsing other pro-choice Republicans blasting local party leaders for meeting with a gay Republican group.

Hartline also has a pattern of targeting an individual or group and then claiming that he’s the one being attacked when they respond. — CityBeat, October 5, 2005

"What I've come to learn about that most of the people today who say that they were born homosexual, is that the incidence of abuse or exposure to some type of sexual thoughts are like seeds planted and they happen before the child is aware that it's happened, then that image is still there and it's always there. So subconsciously, the sexual image or proclivity has been implanted by an adult or older child and the child affected by that doesn't realize that that's how that thing got there. They assume that they were born that way because that's all they've ever remembered. It's the Spirit of God that gives you enough power to wash away the effect, so that the images may never surface again, or they've lost all their pull. So when the Spirit of God comes into your life, the Word of God coupled with the Spirit that's upon that word breaks the bondage that's attached to that image. They key is through Christ Jesus, to never bring yourself down and allow yourself to go into that territory again."

"The gay community is always trying to separate child molesters from homosexuality, but I've found that most pedophiles will participate in homosexuality if they can't get children."

"I had been exposed to a lot of pornography at home when I was little, from about age six until I left. My parents deny it was there, but it was. I was beaten on an almost daily basis -- I once was pushed through a shower door and cut my head open. My mother did most of the beatings -- but I consider my father to be more responsible, because he stood there while she did it. But you have to forgive and forget to move on."

10. what am I to do?
Here in SF we either hate them for putting out of business all the little coffee houses that put paintings on their wall or we line up like zombies for our morning Venti Crack Fix! I support the little guys, because often their coffee selections are wonderful. Café Reverie for instance. Once, once of their baristas apologized for not creating an attractive enough leaf pattern on my latté foam. I was just surprised that he even knew of the traditional serving method.

OK, Starbucks. You've done a wonderful thing, and have been great to us. Come here. Let me give you a hug.

12. Remind me to go to Starbucks and buy a cup of coffee.
Yep...I've got to give them more of my business. :-)

Starbucks is absolutely doing the right thing here. It's good PR, it's good for their business and it's good overall.
