Europe Passes Resolution Denouncing Homophobia
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon06/01/011806europe.htm

The European Parliament passed a joint resolution on Wednesday condemning homophobia.

The measure passed on a 469 - 149 vote with 41 abstentions. It calls on the European Commission to take a more proactive roll in fighting anti-LGBT moves in several EU states.

The resolution says the Commission should begin proceedings against those countries that fail to implement the directive on equal treatment in employment and occupation, and it says the Commission should consider the use of criminal penalties in cases of violation.

The Commission is also asked to put forward proposals that would guarantee the rights of same-sex couples and their children.

1. Uh Oh! I guess we're going to have to use UN Security Council to sanction
them, and if they won't back down from this reckless course, to authorize all necessary force...

2. bring it
I'll be the first to move there and volunteer to be an insurgent.

The scary thing is that there are people here who probably DO believe it's worth going to war for.

As I've said before, they should also feel free to move to a nice little all-homophobe compound in Waco and start playing with matches.

4. I wonder how Evil Uncle Chuckles will react.
I mean Pat Robertson.

Heh, heh heh. The EU has sided with the devil heh, heh and against God by giving protection to gays and lesbians. Heh, heh. The are inviting God's anger and wrath. If something happens, heh, heh, they can't expect any help from the Lord, heh, heh, heh. God will send plagues of flies and boils and frogs, heh, heh and flying aligators that will rip apart children, heh, heh, and atomic sharks that shoot missles. They will be cast into the Lake of Fire, heh, heh, heh, where their bone will be boiled clean and eaten by a 5000 year old dinosaur, heh, heh. In Jesus' name we pray.

5. If they really mean this...
Europe should enact a fast-track asylum policy for oppressed LGBTs throughout the world.

It could solve Europe's major problem - population decline.

And I am not joking about this.

6. Trust me, there's NO support for this
Under all the "tolerant" rhetoric, Europe is conservative and not all that tolerant of gays. They don't want more immigration.

7. I understand that
Europe needs immigration to stem the population decline, but taking in immigrants "dilutes" the European identity.

Plus, what about the homophobia among immigrants causing ruckus, especially in the Netherlands? (I know that homophobic immigrants are a major problem back here in California too...)

It's not as easy as it is, but again, if Europe truly wants to show commitment to human rights, it may have to do something unpopular.
