Why are there no formal rules for posting in this forum?

From the rules:

Some of our forums and groups have special rules that are only relevant to that particular forum or group. The most notable is the Israel/Palestine forum, which has a list of rules pinned in the top of the forum. In addition, every DU Group has a mission statement pinned to the top of the group, and posts which violate any group's mission statement are not permitted.

I push the limits a little on bodily function jokes in The Lounge, but if I cross the boundary I get locked.

On Edit: I don't venture in here all that often. Is there an issue with that in this forum?

The GLBT community of DU has been called everything from a "den of vipers" to "abnormal."

I think the OP is a very valid question of why there is no pinned set of rules in this forum. That is very interesting.

Seriously though, I think that the question would best be directed at Ask The Administrators. Perhaps the moderators aren't spending enough time in this forum.

Then we get our posts locked and deleted and the agitator gets to carry on carrying on.

If the general DU rules can be skirted to allow the nonsense that happens here, then perhaps this forum needs its own set of rules for posting here.

Does that make sense?
