4. Heh, I did just that. I escaped Texas and the US for Brazil.
Where my husband and I are afforded full rights of marriage.

where my husband and I can walk beaches, town roads hand in hand (and not just in the "gay sections") without fear.

Where when my husband and I are walking and holding hands, we don't get looks of disgust, or offhand comments, but instead we get smiles, support, and often people come up and tell us how great we look together.

3 more years to go before we can apply for full residency and citizenship, and we may very well renounce our US citizenship at that time.. we're still weighing all of the pro's and con's.
