Today I looked up my old self...

I went to Google and looked for WillBowden at Democratic Underground.

I found threads that made me smile. Threads that made me sad. Threads that put me into disagreement with people I would later come to respect and admire and some that I would even call friends.

I found threads where someone swore I said "Fuck Obama" and when I proved that he was quoting someone else and attributing it to me (he even did a very bad cut/paste job to prove his point) and found threads where people defended me against one thing or another.

I found threads where we talked of life and death. Threads of needing and giving. Threads from lost friends and threads from those who left.

Most of all I found out why so many of you are my extended family. We may never ever meet one another but I hope we'll always have each others backs.

You are the people who give me hope that the world will become a better place one day. And that's something I look forward to seeing.

In closing please accept this old Irish proverb: May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and the road downhill all the way to your door.
