U.S. Congressman Jared Polis (D-CO) , partner to become parents this fall
U.S. Rep. Jared Polis and his longtime partner, Marlon Reis, are expecting their first baby in September.

Polis, 36, a Democrat from Boulder, issued a statement Tuesday that said they were both "very excited to become new parents."

Reis, 29, is a writer and works from their Boulder home. Polis is in his second term in the House of Representatives. He is among the few openly gay members of Congress.

The two declined to comment further about the news, including whether it was a surrogate pregnancy or an adoption, calling it a private family matter.

4. And George W. Bush was the 3rd best president we've ever had on GLBT issues.
Again, SO?

5. Just trying to explain her impetus for posting this story here.
In that the subject of the article is GDP-approved.

6. I got it! :)
and the "Obama is the best GLBT related president ever" always needs a response "and GWB was the 3rd best". How he compares with previous presidents is irrelevant, as almost all of them, from Washington to Obama, have been anti-homosexual.

7. I posted it because I am happy for Jared. I like him a lot and think he's great..

Btw,
Jared Polis participated in CNN's "Freshman Year in Congress" series, he was pretty awesome in the series and I was sad to see it end. The series followed the first year in Congress of Democrat Polis (including his partner) and another fellow that is a republican.
If you are interesting in seeing the videos you can click on the following link and then click on CNN VIDEO towards the top left: http://www.cnn.com/search/?query=freshman%20year%20in%20congress&primaryType=mixed&sortBy=date&intl=false

p.s. There are 26 videos in the series and are best watched in order by date.

Enjoy!
