http://www.365gay.com/news/3-democratic-senators-will-support-gay-marriage-in-new-york/After voting against same-sex marriage in 2009, three Democratic New York State senators agreed to support legislation legalizing same-sex marriage—a decision that could prove to be a turning point in the long-standing debate.
According to the New York Times, Senators Joseph P. Addabbo Jr., Shirley L. Huntley, and Carl Kruger will all vote for gay marriage, leaving only one Democrat—Ruben Diaz Sr., the most vocal opponent of same-sex marriage—in opposition.
Three Republicans will now have to vote for same-sex marriage in order for the State Senate to pass the measure.
Two years ago, Republican senators voted unanimously against same-sex marriage, but recently five have indicated that they are currently undecided.
Republicans are expected to discuss the same-sex marriage legislation by Wednesday of this week before an expected Senate vote on Thursday or Friday.
