OK, how pissed off should I be?
Just woke up (3rd shifter) and had my friend tell me that Paul had to go to the doctor because of a pacemaker malfunction.

I can't get him on the phone so start worrying (which I'm good at). Then my friend tells me that Paul came home, grabbed some stuff and left again.

He was IN THE FREAKING HOUSE while I was in the bedroom. He could have just come in and explained to me what was going on.

So not pleased with him right now.

8. Well, you'll get to yell at him later
Until then, just confirm that he's been admitted (it sounds like it).

Pacemaker malfunctions can be wire migrations, battery rundown, or simple misfire that has to be corrected by reprogramming by the company. It usually requires an overnight stay hooked up to telemetry to make sure the problem has been corrected.

Just realize he's where he needs to be. You can let him know what a jerk he's been when it's all over.

9. That's my problem...
I can't confirm anything. His phone is off and I'm not sure where he'd end up going. Depends on where his doctor is (and he's got several he could have gone to).

10. Do you know who is cardiologist is? That's the best bet
for finding out where he is.

And yes, you're absolutely right to be furious at him.

11. He just called...
He says they told him nothing was wrong with the pacemaker but there's some weird beats. I couldn't hear him very well so will have to wait till he's home to get the answers.

16. Oh, I did...
The topper was me giving him the example of getting home one afternoon and having our friend tell him I thought I might have been having a heart attack so went to the hospital but giving no details and never bothering to call him and let him know where I was, how I was doing or anything and asking him how he'd feel.

"I'd be very upset."

Duh.
