2. I hope they do the right thing...
This would mean a lot to some folks I know in NY. Also, a big state like that would be a serious step forward.

5. Bloomberg will probably order his lawyers to contest it in court, since
'it's not fair' that those in California can't also get married. And once that happens, he'll contest it on the basis that those in Uganda can't get married. :sarcasm:

4. Dare I hope...again?
On another GLBT blog that I follow, the NY Senate has often been compared to Lucy with the football (of "Peanuts" fame). We get our hopes up that the bill may actually come to a vote before the full NY Senate, just to have them postpone the vote for a myriad of reasons.

Here's hoping that Lucy lets Charlie Brown kick the football this time. Whether he makes the field goal or not, at least let him kick the damn thing! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

10. I'm watching the live feed.
About 8,000 are currently watching, so there is a lot of traffic, which may be why you're having trouble accessing it.

Here is another site where the video is embedded. I hope this helps.

36. So did I.
I was under the impression that the vote was expected to be along party lines, with the exception of Diaz. I wasn't expecting seven other Democrats to vote "no."

This is so disappointing and heartbreaking. :(
