Slandering gays as pedophiles (my analysis and rant)

There was a thread here recently about Pat Robertson doing this, but it's not just a Pat Robertson outrageousness story.

It's part of the fundy party line now and in no way a Robertson original.

The Bible prohibits certain sexual acts, but says nothing about any specific "causes of homosexuality". I doubt that such a concept could even occur to the bronze age savages who wrote that bit.

Merely personally adhering to the Biblical prohibition isn't enough for folks who want to influence public policy in the direction of their prejudices. Even "proving" the Bible wouldn't quite do the trick.

So they resort to slanderous psychobabble, so people who don't share their faith can hate homos too.

1. religion isn't the only cause for hating gay people.

godless russia and the old soviet union is notorious for hating us.

and very obviously here we see religiously ambivalent if not hostile say weird things about support for gay people.

psychobabble merely borrows from religion to slander and create propaganda about us.

2. It's about who is against us here and now.

Of course the psychobabble did not originate with religion.

But the religious are using it to spread prejudice among the not so religious.

I haven't noticed any Soviet types in the anti-gay movement lately.

Let them know how fucking moronic they sound.
