Fraternity Alpha Delta Phi Comes Out To Westboro Baptist Church

On March 9, 2009 the crazed Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) set their sights on the University of Chicago. In customary WBC fashion, the members displayed god related hate speech with unabashed delight. The event took on almost a festive atmosphere as counter protesters refused to take the fundamentalist wack-jobs seriously. Unwilling to go unnoticed amongst the roasting marshmallows and clever signs, the Chicago Chapter of Alpha Delta Phi launched a protest that made me nearly wee my pants.

Michael Moore had fun with that same bunch when he had that "AWFUL TRUTH" show. He counterprotested with a "sodomy bus" or something like that. He got them on the run!

He's gotten beyond the level of TV salaries and formats now. Maybe a new muckraker with a sense of humor will come along--it's just what's needed, IMO. I'd like to see a woman in that role for a change--it's too often the fellahs who do that sort of stuff.

the fraternities were generally dominated by homophobic jerks. These guys (and some others that were recently in the news for a similar thing) are requiring me to put my stereotype to rest. And I say good on 'em!
