1. that was sort of my first thought as well. reminds me of the whole avian flu scare--

and the sneaky attempt at martial law with "gee, we may have to use the military to control the panic, etc."

Doctors and public health officials are NOT PSYCHIC. This is NOT TV, and problems can't all be solved in a one or two hour span. Lab tests take as much time as they take, and cannot be sped up.

There were some delays in Mexico, largely due to the fact that it's a Third World country with a limited public health infrastructure.
