Arnie Kleiner and LAs -KABC Refuse Pro-Gay Family Ad During Inaug.
Edited on Wed Jan-21-09 09:13 AM by bluedawg12
Because the last thing we want is straight LA familys to see is happy, well adjusted gay families. After all this is only 2009 and Rev. Robinson and Rev. Lowery never prayed anywhere did they?

Thanks Arnie! :sarcasm:

Have you heard Arnie?

The God-given promise that all are equal,
all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.

Los Angeles ABC Station Banned Gay Family Ads During Obama Inauguration

In every California country where Prop 8 passed by more than 50 percent, residents might be seeing one of five different ads GetToKnowUsFirst.org is running. Part of a campaign to tell everyone, "Hey, gays are normal!," the ads intend "to capture the hearts and minds of people who do not understand why marriage is so important to us"; they show gay couples and their kids acting, well, like regular families, which they are. But locals who decided to watch Barack Obama's inauguration yesterday on the television network KABC an owned-and-operated Disney-run ABC station, and not a regular affiliate wouldn't have seen any of those ads, because the network refused them. "Too controversial," they insisted.

KABC told Chris Yokogawa, the media buyer trying to place GetToKnowUsFirst.org's ads, that "many families will be watching," so it wouldn't be right to show the ad which featured two black men raising their five children during Obama's inauguration broadcast. "They were firm in their rejection, Yokogawa tells right-wing media industry website CNSNews. "We went back and forth a couple of times. I explained that this family is far from controversial."

Other networks, meanwhile, had no problem taking the organization's cash in exchange for airing the ad. Only KABC, says GetToKnowUsFirst.org, refused to run it.

KABC's president and general manager is Arnold J. Kleiner. The station lists their phone number as (818) 863-7777.

1. God has nothing to do with our rights
Among many possible objections, such a position allows "men of God" and others who claim to speak for Him to claim that those rights have been revoked or otherwise altered.

Our rights are granted by virtue of us being human; no mythology required.

2. True, I didn't write the inaug. I would have said or preferred
the term inalienable right.

I agree, human rights are inalienable and intrinsic. The qualification is being human.

However! That quote was enough for hippo-crite Arnie to chew on without any vexing subtleties, as it is now a matter of public record!

4. Yup. Another danged missed opportunity to get out a good message
at a time when the nation was watching and in LA of all places?

LA???????? X 10^23?

Geez, the ad was informational, in no way offensive, the example on Queerty showed a (hide the kids!) lesbian couple sitting on a park bench ( now this is really vulgar) holding a pair of (dare I even say it?) pug dogs.

Yes, nothing says destroying straight families like two women sitting on a park bench holding their little pug dogs.

SHAME X 10 ^50th!

Oink. Hippo-cretins.
