Qarase said Wednesday that he has no intention of repealing a law that provides for sentences up to 14 years in prison for anyone convicted of committing homosexual acts.

The Fijian government has under intense pressure to get rid of the law after an Australian tourist and a local man were sentenced to two years behind bars for having gay sex. The pair were released on bail this week as they await an appeal. (story)

In a radio interview Qarase said that the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin and Fiji's law reflected that. He also accused the men of making pornography.

After I read this I went searching for away to contact Qarase so that I could personally tell him that I was going to shove my nose so far up his ass that he'd be shitting me for weeks... but in my quest to find a way to contact him I figured that probably wouldn't be productive. (That and he'd probably think I was coming on to him.)

On the other hand I wonder if there is any way we can screw over the country here in the United States? Something we can lobby against and then send his little government a message letting him know why he's getting screwed.
