Hey Everybody,

I'm a teacher in the Mississippi Delta and I teach some of the most under-served students in the country. De facto segregation is alive and well here with the rich white kids in private schools and the students of color left in the public schools with terrible teachers.

Other than being one of the few good teachers in their lives, I'm trying to give them a once-in-a-lifetime kind of opportunity to experience the nation's capital this spring. It would expose them to worldly knowledge, leadership skills, and the benefits of lifelong learning. I'm hoping it will shape their life-paths and create strong future leaders for the Mississippi Delta.

I've got a website dedicated to the cause that is capable of taking online contributions. If you think you can contribute this year, it would mean the world to these kids.

1. Are you in the Teacher Corps?

I was in that for two years and taught at Gentry High (Indianola). On edit it appears you are in Teach for America. I will go ahead and put in a few bucks. Good luck.
