Question for Teachers
I’m currently in a Masters/teaching credential special education program. My BA degree just posted and my advisor told me to get a teaching job. It’s the middle of the school year, I’m not sure how many jobs are out there. I’ve looked at Edjoin, and i’ve already applied for every single position that I’m qualified for.

Are there any other job finding resources I should know about?
I'm in Southern California.
thank you.

1. Most districts have a webpage where they post open positions. Try there. nt

But there are a hell of a lot of school districts in So Cal.
I was hoping for a super secret teacher's magical get me a job now website (besides edjoin).

but thank you for the suggestion.

3. When all else fails..
..sub in the same district over and over.

I taught for many years, and good subs were usually hired for regular jobs when they opened up.

5. I think all else has failed.
Good idea, thanks.
i've applied for a few districts already. but i'll expand my search.
Unfortunately some districts have stopped accepting applications for subs.
I picked the wrong economy to become a teacher in. :(

6. That's my advice as well.
Our school has picked up a few fulltime teachers who originally were subs. Midyear, there aren't a lot of openings, obviously.

4. Have you looked at the state's dept. of ed. website?
Some states have a general search option for open jobs. But subbing may be your only option midyear.

7. Keep Checking
First if you are new I would get on a few sub lists.

Second, once in a school, you never know when a teacher leaves and you just happen to be in the building ready to take over.

But check the classifieds, online, etc...

8. Teachers-Teachers.com
This is a web site that sends emails about job openings. You
might try it.
