I simply can't believe it.

6. I HATE being controversial, all I want to say is that: I LOVE MY TEACHERS AND THEY

NOT ONLY INFLUENCED ME IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE, THEY CHANGED MY LIFE FOR THE BETTER.

I LOVE MY TEACHERS.

AND I RESPECT EVERYONE WHO IS A TEACHER.

I read your post today. I have not read much on DU but my
husband is always on it.  I decided to go to the education
topic and found your post since I read through quite a few.  I
do appreciate your story. I have heard that reply before. 
People have sent it via email too.  It is a great reply.  I
work hard to be a good teacher and it is very hard and I thank
you very much.  I'm sorry you thought nobody read your post.

7. Thats funny

The general theme of this board on the whole seems to be vitriol and sarcasm with some occasional debate that degenerates into arguments...rarely any uplifting or encouragement. The majority of posts I have read in the short time I have been a member are name calling, ad hominem attacks and debasing of people's character if they disagree with the very liberal bent. So to see a positive post go without response except to point out the lack of comment is funny. What did you expect? I hope the majority of the opinions of this board are a minority of the population.

I'd say it's about 50/50 who think public ed should be abandoned.

12. There's been a lot of teacher-bashing lately.

I got so disheartened by it that I took a break for a few days. We're expected to cure society's ills and if we don't, it's all our fault. That's the vibe I was getting and I just couldn't take it.

Thank you for your kind words, BTW. I'm glad to know someone appreciates what we teachers do. We aren't perfect people and sure we make mistakes but as a whole, we're a dedicated profession that honestly and faithfully give our best effort every day.
