24 hours a Le Mans live streaming at Speed Channel
So far it has been an eventful race. Peugeot running 4 seconds a lap faster than Audi, but as always their pit crew screws up. Audi has had it's problems but is still chugging away. Diesel is the big story.
Patrick Dempsey driving a Ferrari and doing well. Flying Lizard Porsche is kicking ass.

Beautiful track.

1. I remember when I used to follow Le Mans.
Now, cars have become mere transportation to me.

2. For me too, but I am seeing some great new technology being developed
for this class of cars. Also the rivalry between Audi and Peugeot is terrific.

4. I suppose so, but that same technology has driven me
away from my interest in automobiles. Where I once handled my own repairs and even performance upgrades, I am now stymied in doing just about anything to my current autos. I did replace a radiator in a 1999 GMC Jimmy the other day, and I still change my own oil, I cannot even replace spark plugs in that same Jimmy.

I've just stop caring about what used to be a passion of mine. I can't afford to own a classic vehicle, so I just drive my cars now to get to the grocery store or to my fishing hole.

A pity, even though I know today's cars are far more efficient and reliable than their older counterparts.

12. I think I heard it referred to
as a "snatch" truck. Looks like it just yanks those puppies around like nothing.

i'm surprised the corvettes have been doing this well (1-2-3) after the Aston Martins have owned it the past couple years....

and as usual, Peugeot is in the overall lead, but will they lose it once again?

27. naturally, this was the year i slept through the last few hours
Edited on Sun Jun-14-09 10:25 PM by Blue_Tires
every year i always made it a point to be awake for the winning car crossing the finish line, but this time i dozed off...

and congrats to Pugeot for finally breaking through...there have been numerous years when Peugeot or Pescarolo have had the faster car only to get snakebitten by reliability or bad luck...and of course congrats to GM and Corvette Racing for their return to the top -- they could use a little good news these days...

and if anyone in the thread hasn't seen "Truth in 24", I recommend it
