Looks like it's up to me to post the Sox v. Yanks thread
since all you people are falling down on the job with the relentless razzing about various teams, all of which are inferior to The Greatest Rivalry in American Professional Sports. Feh.

In any case, if you missed it, let me help you catch up:

These guys

are leading the series 2-0, and have seven victories in as many tries against the pinstripe boys this year. To wit: Yanks haven't won one yet, though they will have a great chance tomorrow with their ace Sabathia going on the mound instead of the blown-out Chien Ming Wang. See you on the morrow, sportsfans!

2. By the law of averages, the Yanks HAVE to win one sooner or later
Edited on Thu Jun-11-09 12:13 AM by flvegan
and the Red Sox HAVE to lose one sooner or later, no matter how vastly superior they may be to the Yanks. Tomorrow might be the one where the Yanks hit that "rivalry lotto" and I wish them luck garnering either statistical or divine intervention.

3. So far so good
But I've been around long enough to know what might happen.

But a sweep (another sweep) would be just fine with me. :)

4. I want a sweep! The Spankees can win in the House that Satan Built...
...but not in Fenway. I agree, though, tonight is their best chance.

6. They'll have to get 15 to break the 1912 record...
...here's hoping they do!

and I much prefer the Red Sox ...even with this 8 game win streak over the Yankees, the Sox have only been able to forge a 2 game lead over them in the division.

10. That bad start and a generally sub-par road record have been responsible for that
However I think things are starting to click. Our last road-trip we had a winning record, we've done well at home, the bullpen is awesome (even with tonight... nobody's perfect) and the starting pitching is getting back to some semblance of normalcy despite Dice-K's performance thus far. Even Ortiz is showing signs of life. I'm cautiously optimistic.

11. If they can get Dick-K up and running,
they're on all cylinders...Lester is clicking, Penny did a good job, Wakefield and especially Beckett are dominant.

"Sweeping the Yanks: Priceless". Thanks construction workers!
