That loud noise you are hearing coming from Washington
is the sound of the Pittsburgh Penguins choking in the Conference semis.

Oh, what a lovely sound!

Savor it.

3. Is Ovechkin a monster or what?
He's an incredible player...I thought it was interesting the way Versus was showing Mario Lemueix watching just as Ovechkin scored his third goal....

that can get them through a playoff series. Jose Theodore wasn't getting it.

7. Yeah, who knew? Of course, I also thought that was a trip to open up
Ovechkin's tie-breaker, so perhaps the refs were just too out of breath to blow the whistles. Which is good, I like a wide-open game, as long as I'm just watching from the safety of my couch...

10. It's perfectly acceptable to do so if it's in the form of revenge.
I warned him that I would be showing no mercy because of the way he taunted the Sharks and those of us who are San Jose fans.

But excellent job as usual misrepresenting my position.

12. Washington held serve on their ice,
that's what they were supposed to do.

If Pittsburgh loses one at home over the next 2 games, then the chocking can be talked about. Washington has had some people who I didn't expect to step up, namely their goalie, and has kept them in the games.

I give them credit for captializing more on their opportunities. The Ovechkin goals were by no means cheapies. The first was just good positioning and he had an open net. The other 2 were just plain rockets. He's a goal scorer and a damn good one. The other goal was just an unfortunate bounce of a blocked shot.

If this series goes back to Washington tied at 2-2 then the pressure's back on Washington.

14. I'm not sure it can really be a choke seeing as though Washington is the higher seed.

17. Yes and no. Pitts has played very well since the all-star break and the NHL's regular season...
is almost irrelevant.

Many teams just do the bare minimum to get into the playoffs and people play was vastly more intensity in the playoffs, hence why some players' stats jump.

The regular season needs to lose about ten games.

19. Home cooking is alive and well tonight.
7 straight power plays for the Pens before they finally give one to the Caps. I hope Ovechkin shuts them up in OT.

24. Alot of that had to do with Pittsburgh being the more aggressive team
the hooks and interferences generally are a result of players trying to slow the opponent down.

The Pens played perhaps their best game of the playoffs last nite. Again Varlomov stood on his head or that would have been a 2-3 goal win as opposed to OT.

25. The Pens just plain out worked the Caps last night, and that's why.
Nothing fishy to me (and I watched more of that game than the Boston one, which was kind of dull after the first period).
