1. At least they never dubbed themselves "America's Team" like a certain football team& a baseball team
did.

3. The only way you're going to get
anywhere close to parody is with a salary cap and I'm not sure if I like that idea...it's turned the NFL into a league of mediocrity.

BTW, I hate the Yankees too..

4. You're just mad because the Yanks beat the Royals again.

And so am I!

Except for 1985 this has been happening to Kansas City since 1955.

Parity? No. How about banishment?

Edited to correct horrendous spelling.

9. Tigers won 101 in 1961, and lost to the stinkin' Yankees by eight games.
The year I fell in love with baseball (fell out of love in the '90s). Tigers had Cash (.361, 44 homers and 132 RBI, and no, I didn't have to look that up), Kaline, Colavito, Bunning (repuke, but a great pitcher), Don Mossi, Terry Fox, Billy Bruton, and the Yankee Killer, Frank Lary, who went 24-9 (as I recall) and OWNED the Yankees his entire career.

He's long gone now (yes, I stole that line from George Kell, RIP), but Tater was special.

Course, the Yankees had those Maris-Mantle guys. Some guy named Whitey, and another named Yogi. What the hell; great baseball season.

10. BTW - their new stadium blows too.
An average of $75 per ticket.

For that amount I better get laid too.

17. Parody in baseball means an SNL skit...I assume you mean parity...
That said, I wholly endorse this thread and its sentiment.
