Too bad you can't say Arizona Cardinals fans have
suffered through thick and thin to get to this point.

Arizona had one of the lowest average NFL attendance figures for years when the team played at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe.

Crowds of fewer than 30,000 were not uncommon, even though I realize they were playing in a shithole bench-style college stadium.

New Orleans fans have traditionally supported the Saints, New York has traditionally supported the Jets, etc.

Only recently has Phoenix supported the Cardinals because everyone wants to see the new stadium.

Not taking anything away from the Cards who got in fair and square (even though they had an easy schedule like Miami).

1. Well...
I'd say that certain die-hard Cardinal fans -- those (few) season-ticket holders in St. Louis and Arizona -- have been through thick and thin. I'm happy for them.

And the Cardinals had the same schedule as the 49ers, against two of the tougher divisions in the league -- The AFC East and the NFC East. None of the teams in those divisions were walk-overs.

4. The easy schedule-Miami reference was a shot at trumad
Come on Winebrat, follow your program. Geeeeeez

However, keep in mind the Cardinals cleaned up against the Rams and Seahwaks. Those are four easy wins. And they bombed Buffalo 41-17. The Bills aren't that great.

But Arizona's W-L is not the point of my OP.

I don't think a "certain" number of die hard Cardinal fans is impressive.

And by the way, I would throw in Cleveland as another city that is far more supportive.

3. Arizona had a much more difficult schedule than the overrated Dolphins
they played 6 regular season games against playoff teams, as opposed to Miami's 3. Also of note, the Cardinals humiliated the Dolphins 31-10 in an early season match up.

5. Thank you for reminding me about Miami's humiliating loss
to Arizona and Miami's easy schedule.

There are high school teams that could have put up more than ten points.

6. I bet Tampa will look like a Steeler Home Game
One thing about Steeler Nation - they'll find a way to get to Tampa and get tickets to the game.

Dallas fans do it, 49er fans used to do it when SF was good.

10. The Cardinals are a charter member of the NFL.
There are still fans around here (Iowa) that have been so since the days of the Chicago Cardinals let alone St Louis. I'll be pulling for the Cardinals in the SB.

15. Pittsburgh fans will travel and spend to get tickets
Edited on Mon Jan-19-09 05:52 PM by RamboLiberal
And I heard the Cardinals had a hard time selling out a playoff game. Never happens here. I think we have a 10+ year waiting list for season tickets. And the Steelers are noted for having Steeler Bars in almost every city and state. There's also a lot of Steelbirds that moved to FL. I don't think I'm going out on a limb at all.

may it be felt in the locker room. Being a season ticket holder for the Sun Devil's Iwatched him play and he was a fighter. Of course, everyone here knows he then went to play the Cards.
Edited to add:

14. BITE ME Cboy.
Bitter much?

The Cardinals have great fans here in Phoenix. Too many out-of-town assholes though that kept hanging on to the shithole places (NY, Boston, Chicago, Philly, etc) that they fled to Arizona from. Shithole of a stadium for too many years. Bidwill didn't throw a tantrum, threaten to move team, etc. Finally got a new stadium.

perhaps you meant to say "former owner"...but, then again, you are a Cowgirl fan...

Edit: I thought you'd like to know that the recently released Pacman Jones had already been arrested 6 times by the time Jerry Jones acquired him. Obviously Jones has no compunctions about employing criminals.

23. No I won't bite you but I'll continue to raise the issue that
for many years, high school football teams in Texas were drawing better than the Cardinals.

Yea, there are Cardinals fans who've been with them through thick and thin from the beginning.

But they are very few and far between.

Yea, every city has great fans when the team wins.

Let's talk about the crowds of 25,000.

If your team was any good, how come they're not in the SB and the Cards are?
