1. Thank God for small favors!
Although a lot of people would consider that a BIG favor.

2. Yeah, but that means Al Michaels and John Madden calling SB43.

3. True, but I'd take Michaels-Madden over Buck-Aikman or Nantz-Sims.
At least Madden is good for a couple of head-scratching comments every quarter. Aikman should be paired up with a better play-by-play guy. He's actually pretty good.

4. Joe Buck and George W. Bush:
The two biggest poster boys for nepotism in their respective fields.

Joe Buck sucks the fun out of any sporting event he covers, and the sports landscape is better for him no longer polluting the airwaves. At least until baseball season.

5. Nantz seems to really really want the Steelers to win
not that it makes any difference really

Nantz is brutal on the closed caption BTW-He can go an entire 3 down set without using a verb.

I never noticed but now I've been watching the last few minutes and you are right! The man has a verb aversion!

7. A buddy of mine and I regularly bag on Shannon Sharpe
Edited on Sun Jan-18-09 09:13 PM by underpants
he is BRUTAL on the CC-I have seen it just go blank.

I catch a lot of games in the afternoon during our daughter's nap in the next room so CC is a regular thing for me.

Nantz:

3rd down
Favre. Shotgun.
to (insert name of receiver).
First down.

Third first down of the drive.
First down.
Empty backfield.
(insert running back name) to the left.
3 yards.
2nd and 7.
Mangini with three wide receivers in.

etc.

Sorry couldn't come up with any Jets backs or receivers off the top of my head and Rothlisberger is too long to type that many times

10. LMAO
I have often sat there listening to him, watching his mouth move, and having absolutely no idea if what he just said was even in English. He's a funny guy, but his brother Sterling is an infinitely better commentator.
