Dungy announces retirement from Colts
ony Dungy has decided to retire after seven record-setting seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, a source within the organization said. He will be succeeded by associate head coach Jim Caldwell.

Dungy informed owner Jim Irsay of his decision this weekend after discussing it with his wife, Lauren, and family. He had contemplated retirement at the end of the past several seasons, but always decided to return.

Not this time.

1. I wish HE would go to Detroit

with his being a native Michigander, it would be a nice fit, but I think he wants to leave football for missionary work, IIRC.

2. Hey Lisa
Mitch Albom has a very nice article about Detroit and its sports fans in the recent Sports Illustrated Edition (the one with the Eagles on the cover.) A very nice article indeed.

Wouldn't going to Detroit to coach professional football be missionary work?

I love the Lions and wish them well. Maybe the Miami Dolphins of 2009!?
