Fan's blast Fox broadcast crew and their reach-around of St. Tebow.
examples:
• "Brennaman and Charles Davis' gushing reached unbearable levels late in the game, when, after Tebow received a taunting penalty, they suggested that he was baited into it by an OU player (with zero evidence to suggest that was true)"

• "Brennaman was so far over the top in his pro-Tebow hyperbole on Thursday that the game became darn-near unwatchable unless the volume was off. It started in the first half, when Brennaman stated that 'if you're fortunate enough to spend five minutes or 20 minutes around Tim Tebow, your life is better for it,' and continued from there. He basically repeated that line early in the second half and then, when Florida put the game away in the fourth, Brennaman let it all out."

• "Really the only problem with the game Thom Brennaman’s love affair with Tim Tebow. As much hype and praise is doled out to Tebow, I’m not sure I’ve seen anyone go as over the top with his comments as Brennaman did. The commentary was so nauseating it almost became unbearable. ... Sure, Tebow is a fantastic player and played well in the second half of the game, but he’d be God’s son the way Brennaman told it. I really hope Tebow goes to the NFL just so I don’t have to deal with another year of this crap. I don’t believe I’d be able to handle 'Tebow’s chase for a third national championship' or second Heisman."

2. Sad thing is the reaction to the announcers gushing just generates a hatred of Tebow
And the kid has no control over what the media says or writes about him.

The kid is a phenomenal football player, but the backlash to being told that over and over makes people want to look for his flaws and hate him.

I pity the first time he really makes a mistake (and what 20 something male doesn't screw up from time to time?). The world is waiting to maul him.

Tebow might be appreciated even more if every accomplishment wasn't crammed down our throats over and over by the media.

3. He's a good college player in Meyer's system...
Honestly--- I don't think he'll make it in the NFL. His size will be countered by the size of the NFL... and his average speed will certainly be his downfall.

Then again---he is a gamer so ya never know.

What bugs me about the guy is his over the top Jesus shit. That he brings on himself.

5. Tebow is much more than a "good college player"
he is a GREAT college player....Two national championships and a Heisman say so.

All that God stuff bothers me somewhat too, but it shouldn't cloud one's judgment when evaluating his on field performance. Anyway, wouldn't you rather have a player with the character of Tebow as opposed to somebody like Pacman Jones?

I know one thing, should Tebow get drafted by the Dolphins, you'll suddenly be singing his praises.

6. He won't be drafted by the Phins because we have an NFL type QB in the wings...
Named Chad Henne. Henne is the prototype NFL QB who can throw from the pocket and can move if he needs to. Tebow is not the prototype NFL QB. He's more of a runner than passer and the NFL eats up guys like him.

BTW: I'm sick and tired of hearing how Tebow won 2 NC's--- Uhh---QB Chris Leak was the MVP of the first NC and he pretty much won that one.

Your Pacman statement is a strawman... There are only a handful of problem players in the NFL. The majority are character players who don't have to wear bible versus under their fucking eyes.

I don't hate Tim Tebow---I just hate the hype of a guy who will be a future bust in the NFL.

12. Florida would not have won the '06 National Championship .....
had Tebow not been on that team.

Re his passing.... he threw the two best passes made in the Champ game the other night. 2 twenty yard darts down the middle to WR's who were well covered both on 3rd down. That's saying something, too because Bradford is a great and accurate passer.

Tebow finished 2nd in passing efficiency last season and #4 this season. Also, last year when he won the Heisman he had the highest passing efficiency rating of any QB that ever won the Heisman.

Anyone who says he can't pass is either republican stupid or distracted by those 100 yard rushing games he has all the time.

7. What he does or doesn't do in the NFL is irrelevant though.
It's a different game, and regardless of the NFL, he is a great COLLEGE football player right now.

The hype is the only thing not to like about him.

8. Gee, I thought Tebow was a quarterback
I was wrong. He's an early Christian saint, a Tibetan monk, a Zen master, a Hindu holy man, a Sufi poet and a Hebrew prophet all rolled into one.

11. Yea, I'm expecting to see the FOX broadcast show up on
YouTube at some point.

The FOX crew and Tebow should have really gotten a room.

It made the Janet Jackson wardrobe malfunction look like something on Sesame Street.

(I really didn't pay too close attention, but I figure I'm due to agree with trumad about somethine. Plus, it could stir up some shit. Hopefully.)

13. Jebus aside, Tebow's insane, isn't he? He looks and acts
like a crazy man. I mean, if he weren't a football player, he'd be put away.

16. Brennaman's Wikipedia page has it
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thom_Brennaman

In 2009, Brennaman was criticized by numerous online sports media outlets, including Deadspin and AOL Fanhouse, two of the most highly trafficked sports blogs on the internet, for his praise of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow during the 2009 BCS Championship game.<3><4>

17. LOL - I think if Tebow would have went to the booth and whipped it out,

those two would have went to town right then and there.

He is a great college football player, but I've never seen broadcasters gush over one player so much.

18. Video of the gushing:

http://deadspin.com/5127079/tim-tebow-is-like-the-son-of-god-thom-brennaman-never-had

LOL:

Did you hear the Good News? Tim Tebow won his second National Championship using grit, determination, four kinds of leadership and a form of mind control that he learned while uniting the Philippines.

According to Fox announcer Thom Brennaman—and if you don't agree with him, you must be some kind of deranged lunatic—Tim Tebow just may be the finest human being to ever live on this planet or any other. If fact, Thom Brennaman himself felt like little more than a puny insignificant speck in the fearful presence of Tim Tebow's greatness. Of course, Tim Tebow is made of such generous spirit and delicious candy that he cured Brennaman of his fear (and his adult acne), making him feel completely at ease and joyful simply by performing a Gator chomp with Tebow-esque hands.

Yes, it was Tim Tebow who healed fellow teammate Percy Harvin's ankle and then willed him to 122 yards rushing on nine carries. It was Tim Tebow's idea to deny Sooner running Chris Brown at the goal line on fourth down. I'm pretty sure he used some sort of levitation magic to keep Sam Bradford's pass bouncing in the air long enough for Major Wright to intercept it. It was his hand that reached down from the heavens to block a 49-yard field goal attempt late in the third quarter. And, despite letting Oklahoma stay in game out of compassion and sportsmanship, it was Tim Tebow who leapt over an Oklahoma wide receiver to snatch away an fourth-quarter interception and turn the game in the Gators favor. (Wait, that was Ahmad Black. Funny that the game story didn't mention that, but I'm sure it was the revelation of Tim Tebow perfect bone structure that encouraged Black to do it.)

Yes, Tim Tebow threw two interceptions of his own, but that was just pure unadulterated leadership. I, for one, feel like a better person for simply having watched that football game last night. He makes me want to be a better football fan.
