This is pathetic

Arizona gets another blackout deadline extension

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The NFL has granted a second, final 24-hour extension of its television blackout deadline for the Arizona Cardinals' wild card playoff game against Atlanta on Saturday.

The team has until 2:30 p.m. on Friday to sell its remaining tickets. A sellout crowd is necessary for the NFL to lift its blackout of the home television market.

The NFL had already extended the deadline 24 hours to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. In a news release, the team said 3,700 tickets remained.

"Based on the activity we've seen the last couple of days and particularly in the last 24 hours, we're very optimistic that this extension will get us where we need to be," said Ron Minegar, the Cardinals executive vice president and chief operating officer.

3. That is sad, though maybe it's just the times.
The owners should buy the rest like the Krafts did in the early years. Don't screw the home fans when you're trying to build something worthwhile.

5. What are the prices of those seats do you think?
I'm sure no matter how much people love their football, that people need to think before plunking down 100-200 dollars (at least) per seat right now.

6. The unsold Minnesota seats are $80.00 to $160.00
Good seats, but a lot of money in a tough economy.

7. Well, actually if either the Cards or Vikings were playing teh Cowboys
they would have sold out in just a few minutes.

So apparently, teh NFL is not fixing the games so that the COWBOYS are in the playoffs every year!

19. The Cowboys obviously didn't want in this year, why would the NFL push them against their will?

8. Such collaboration between the NFL, the teams and the networks...
makes me never want to purchase an nfl ticket.

And I'll never feel bad about redistributing any of their broadcasts. If I ever do.

9. Football is a million times better on tv than in person anyways.
Sadly, hockey is just the opposite.

11. Depends on where/when you see it.
I got the chance to go to a Redskins playoff game at RFK back in 83 (year they won their first SB) and it was fricking AWESOME..The whole stadium was literally rocking and rolling....

12. tap, tap, tap.
It would still have sucked. That fall, my folks picked my sister up from American University, and on the way there they stopped at a diner (my brother was with them). The waiter told them to pray for the redskins to win and my brother had this :wtf: look on his face. My brother makes me look like a lightweight cowboy fan!!!!

:hi:

16. RFK was an AWESOME place to watch a game. I went to the EagleBank Bowl...
to root for Navy and watch football in RFK one more time.

As the networks said, it was the closest thing to the college football experience in the NFL. The crowd, the intensity, the band...

FedEx sucks out loud. No one in the "club level" watches the game or makes noise, and in the upper deck you're too far up and too far back to see anything and you can't hear the band or fight song. I've turned down chances to go there.

23. I wonder what it feels like to lose a Super Bowl?
You should let Winebrat and myself know since the idea of actually losing the big game is a foreign concept.

In fact, the last two 49er Super Bowl wins were absolute routs.

I was so embarrassed for the Broncos and Chargers.

Eddie did it all on his own.

22. Eddie never had to sit around wondering whether Candlestick
Park was full for the playoffs.

Why it's been mostly full since the early 1980's for every single game.

And most certainly for every one of their playoff games.

In fact, 49er fans were responsible for buying up tickets at opposing stadiums just to watch the team play.

What a wonderful man, and the best owner ever, by the way.
