How many games must Ohio State Lose to keep them out of the Championship Game?
Is the NCAA contractually obligated to put a Big Ten Team in the Championship game? Which SEC team will OSU lose to in the championship game? Why are there only five SEC teams in Sports Illustrated's top twenty?

Big Ten fans with self esteem issues or those with no sense of humor need not reply.

Just about every publication I read have my beloved Razorbacks sucking big time this year. I have to agree. Hopefully more will be on the sideline and not in jail when the first coin is tossed. But. As every champion knows. There is strength in humility.

Just stirring it up (all in fun) and let the games begin.

3. Two (in most years).
Only one two-loss team has ever made it to the show: the defending national champs!

So barring another hellbroth of late-season upsets, it's two strikes and the Bucks are out.

7. Agreed. 2 knocks them and probably all others, out....
If they lose to USC they'll still be OK. It's unlikely that there will be 2 unbeatens. At USC comes early, too. (Sept 13th. the 3rd game.) But if there are 2 or more 1 loss teams I'd bet several pollsters will vote OSU lower based on the results of the Champ games in '07 and '08.

6. Hopefully it will be a long time before they put any Big Ten team in

I'm not so sure Georgia shouldn't have been playing us last year for the championship.

8. If they win at USC and win the rest, unless there are 2 other unbeaten teams...
they'll have earned another shot.

12. Sorry Blue Dem, Your Boy Rich is going to get hurt in Columbus this year...
...and hopefully for many years to come. I already miss LLLLLoyd Carr at least he was a classy loser versus this snake oil salesman Rodriguez (just ask Morgantown).

By the way, the voters will not be kind to Tressel because other teams that should have went to the title game (e.g. Oklahoma, Missouri, USC, FL, scUM, etc) just kept losing games. Remember OSU was supposed to finish 4th in the Big Ten last year. OSU is a victim of their own success and the failure of others. However, because of their poor showing in the last two title games, the voters will not let them go to the title game this year unless they are undefeated.

15. Tressel is a bigger snake oil salesman than any other coach
Ohio turns a blind eye because he wins, he wears that dorky sweater vest, and he prays on the field (which should not be allowed at a taxpayer institution).

But he'll get his. Just wait.

16. Nah, I gotta go with CA on this.
Rich blew the Pitt game, and an opportunity to trounce the Bucks in the championship game, because he was busy counting his money from Michigan. Then he left us high and dry in the Fiesta Bowl. But the way that turned out I guess we didn't need him after all.

In the realm of snake oildom, that easily trumps praying in a dorky sweater.

14. Well, the Hogs WILL suck gas this year
You don't lose the two best tailbacks in college football without feeling some nasty aftereffects.

That said, I agree with your claim that the Big Ten is overrated. That especially goes for Michigan and Ohio State.

When the dust settles, this might be the year the Dawgs put it together.

19. That would be sweet and just
OSU goes undefeated and doesn't get into the championship game. That would be outstanding.

18. Depends.
If there is an undefeated SEC team or a one loss SEC team They will get in first, then Ohio State would get in if USC had two losses.

Unless Sanchez is pedestrian this year, USC will win it all.

21. They could lose to USC and end up playing USC in
the championship game. Not that there is any anti-Big Ten bias in my two cents worth. Who is going to start for USC as QB. The kid who ran away from Arkansas cause he thought the coach didn't love him enough?

22. Seven is the answer
They can't go to a bowl, much less the BCS if they don't have 6 wins.

If Overrated State gets their 6 wins, they they may as well pack their bags for Miami.

Fucking AP has the Suckeyes at #2 already. Idiots.

23. Howdy Neighbor
We are just across the state line east of Slidell in Mississippi. Been meaning to get to Avery Island for some time. Although I am a Razorback fan to my death I am surrounded by LSU and USM fans. I must say I concur and love your point of view.
