The Olympics are on in August, I'm already counting the days and this upcoming Olympics should see a great Gold medal haul for New Zealand, of the likes we haven't seen since 1984.

I love the fact, that there will be some guy or girl from some wee war torn nation who will probably capture the hearts of the entire Planet, either by causing a upset by winning the Gold or just by finishing his or her event.

1. I heard on the radio yesterday

that the American Team is bringing their own food because they don't trust the Chinese Product. That pissed off the Chinese. Yes, there will be some little waif from Waifistan with the wonderful little smile and the awesome display on the balance beam ending up on the cover of Sports Illustrated.

2. I'm hoping the little waif on the cover of SI

is Shawn Johnson of Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa. A few Olympic Golds would make for fascinating reading in her "How I Spent My Summer Vacation" essay.

8. I read something about that....

The USOC did some testing on chicken it found in a supermarket over there and found out that it was so full of steroids and hormones that it would trigger a positive drug test if eaten.

5. As much as I try I just can't get into the Summer Olympics.

All the fun and dangerous sports are in the winter. And I can't take any more sappy stories in either the Winter or Summer Olympics at this point. I got two cavities last time around from the sugary sappiness. :)

9. Dangerous just being there.

The smog is so thick there, that it's dangerous simply for the athletes to be competing out of doors. Not that we'll see that particular aspect of the Olympics, mind you. Some things must be sanitized.
