1. i know this sounds like defeatism......
but there is literally no hope for that franchise. there is never going to be a winning thing ever again. call it a jinx or karma, but it matters not who is the owner, who is the coach, who is the quarterback, and especially who is the number one draft pick. this organization will never turn the corner on how bad they are. if they ever get close again, the powers that be will send a message to the referees to end their hopes, or a bone-headed coaching decision will lead to a last minute defeat pulled from the jaws of victory.(Pittsburgh loss in the playoffs two years ago) if you need proof, just look at a few names/events: kellen winslow, tim couch, mike junkin, mike phipps, kevin johnson, the drive, the fumble, etc, etc. i can think of numerous other examples but can't remember their names. i am sorry but i am outta here as a supporter of that team, and for that matter professional sports in general. (see detroit pistons/indiana pacers highlights) being a cleveland fan is right up there with, oh i don't know.....pissing in the wind.

2. Injury's have crushed this team
I still like the talent that butch has brought in, the only questionable move is the Garcia move. Old aging QB not used to a ridged run orientated offense. look at the talent they will have coming back next year. IF they get a good draft pick(stud CB or O-lineman) pick up a free agent olineman, maybe a good OLB. they could win 10 games next year if everyone stays relatively healthy. plus they should probably start playing mccown this year to get him some experience with garcia injured.

8. As a Steelers fan, I disagree,
Get rid of Davis and put a coach in there who can make the Browns competitive! The rivalry is dying! Sure, I hate Baltimore, but I used to love to hate the Browns more when they were somewhat of a threat.

4. I'm not a Browns fan, but
you guys need someone new. He sucks. Follow the lead of the jets and hire a young guy who can gain the respect of today's players.

5. i was a split ohio team supporter
both a bengals and browns fan. but i must admit, im leaning towards cincinatti. I like palmer a lot, and there is definately improvemant in the defense. but ill still keep my ears open, and still root for the browns, except in the ohio game of course :)

as to butch davis...i'm undecided. on the one hand, he needs to go. but when, that's the problem. i lean towards the end of the season. teams generally dont fare well when coaches switch mid-season.

7. I'm a Bengals fan...
so I'd just as soon keep him around indefinitely. But if I were a Browns fan, I'd say do it at the end of the season. There's nothing to be gained by firing him now.
