2. I can't believe people are calling their win against Duke
last night an "upset." Duke is just not good this year--didn't deserve a #6 seed and certainly got high rankings all year just on reputation.

4. Exactly-all my wife's coworkers are claiming that VCU played dirty

so much for city pride ...oh that's right they like Duke ;-) for the same reason they hate the city of Richmond ;-)

5. I think its fair to say
that VCU was a tad bit physical in the game, but Duke lost the game on the foul line.

6. As much of an ACC fan as I have been
almost any contact is more than ACC teams are used to. UVa and State frequently and historically have pushed this line in the ACC. I didn't see anything that was all that physical except for that one push on the rebound but he was probably just frustrated by Duke that is part of their game-he got a foul called on him so it is a wash.

10. Anyobody who says VCU was too physical and does not mention
the cheap shot by Duke in their game against UNC, has some serious issues. I really loathe Coach K after he tried to place the blame on UNC. Duke is dirty, has always been dirty, and the media thinks they're saints.

7. It was a minor upset
Jeff Sagarin of USA Today had Duke rated 15th in the country in his power ratings. Those are based on results, not reputation.

But here's the situation in college basketball: The difference between 1st and 15th in those power rankings is 7 points. Then if you downtrack 7 points from #15, it goes all the way to #76. There is extreme parity beyond the top dozen or so teams. This year Duke wasn't elite and therefore that balance among the teams from 15 to 80 worked against them, not in their favor.

The Colonial is a good league, very scrappy. Not merely George Mason last year. I remember when my USC team was seeded very high about 5 years ago and NC Wilmington knocked them out in the first round.

Congrats to VCU. I always liked that team, from the first year I bet college basketball and won a string of wagers on them. Earlier in that season I screwed up and bet Richmond at VCU without realizing they were located in the same city and it was a rivalry. I deservedly lost.

3. Congrats to your team Underpants
Maybe some day it will be a big deal to beat VCU!!! I wouldn't want to meet Duke in the first round of next year's tourney.
