#1 Florida loses to Vanderbilt

I wonder how far down in the polls they'll drop.

Wisconsin now has the best record in the country. I still can't figure out why Ohio State is ranked ahead of Wisconsin since the Badgers have a better record and they have beaten OSU.

1. Florida is the best team

I'm not sure they'll drop at all. It's normal to lose a tough conference road game late in the season. Florida was only a 6 point favorite, so hardly a big shock.

Florida is available at 4/1 to win the title, perhaps a shade higher. I don't think that's a bad bet, considering what a veteran team it is and how they've beaten top teams very handily on occasion.

3. Shamelessly bumping my own old post

Someone told me they didn't remember me touting Florida at 4/1 but I was sure I had.

I took that 4/1, not that I rooted for it to cash. I learned a long time ago that rooting interest, especially in college sports, is more fanatic and lasts a lot longer than whatever I do with the money.

Regardless, congrats to the Gators.

I'm not too worried about my Gators. Better they drop a game now than in March.
