Nash wins second straight MVP award
PHOENIX (AP) - Steve Nash won the NBA's Most Valuable Player award for the second straight year Sunday, beating runner-up LeBron James by a comfortable margin.

The award was presented Sunday at a news conference at US Airways Center, where Phoenix won Game 7 of its first-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday night.

The Phoenix Suns point guard received 57 first-place votes and 924 points overall from a panel of 125 sports writers and broadcasters in the United States and Canada.

James of Cleveland had 16 first-place votes and 688 points overall. Nash's close friend Dirk Nowitzki of Dallas was third with 14 first-place ballots and 544 overall.

1. Completely Wrong
I think the voting altogether was wrong. I do not think Nash should have been the MVP nor do I think Kobe should have been fourth. Yes, I think he should have ranked higher.

2. I agree with the voting...
James should have been right up there...

Kobe doesn't deserve the MVP. Most Valuable Player is the guy who does whatever it takes to win. That doesn't include being a ball hog show off who doesn't distribute to teammates. LeBron makes his teammates better. Steve Nash always dishes and makes his teammates better. Their teams are better because of them.

In LA it's the Kobe show and if it's not he acts like a child about it. When Kobe was forced to share with Shaq they won championships. Kobe will never win one on his own. He will never be Michael Jordan. As much as Jordan dominated the offense and shots, he always seemed willing to find Pippen or Grant or someone underneath if it was a better chance at a basket. Kobe shoots instantly (same problem Iverson has too).

Nash is a good choice. He and Duncan and eventually LeBron are good examples of how you can be a scoring threat but also a team leader at the same time.

Most. Valuable.
