1. I take it you are
for Pittsburgh?

So am I. Looking forward to seeing the great UGA Bulldawg, Hines Ward, play a great game.

I'm inclined to agree with you: given the way the Steelers shut down Manning and the Colts offense, I don't see why they won't completely shutdown the Seahawks as well.

2. you are correct
they'll score 24. And they will never actually be at ten points, due to the two first quarter TDs. And then the game is over.

3. Many teams have thought that
and they have been WRONG!

I like both teams. I kind of want Pittsburgh a little more but I live in Seattle and am hosting a party, so I need to be at least neutral.

14. I think my post on the other thread was quite accurate.
Loud mouth winners are the worst.

Give it up.

15. But not as bad as loud mouthed losers
Who are now convincing themselves the refs actually plotted to fix a football game against them. If anyone needs to give it up it;'s the conspiracy theorists who swear there was a coordinated effort to deliberately hand the game to Seattle. What a fucking pathetic testament.

16. Unfortunately, it's not just the losers.
In fact, most Seahawks fans aren't going there. It's the noncommitted fans that are upset about the way the game was officiated. I spent the game at a party full of Steelers fans, who loved every call, but also scratched their heads in wonder, as they weren't so blind as to ignore the bizarre nature of so many key calls going against Seattle. As I've noted, it had the air of a Juventus match in a key game in Italy.

17. most Seahawks fans "went there" plenty before the game
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 11:02 AM by kathy14-0
And they can expect it thrown in their face now. My team got beat up early in the playoffs so I really didn't care who won and I thought the officiating was fine. You break the rules of the game you get penalized for it. Even if you took half the supposed bad calls and reversed them Seattle still would have lost.

They couldn't get in the endzone to save their lives and couldn't even get within reasonable distance for FG attempts. You can't win games when you play like that.

18. Blah. Blah. Blah.
It's interesting. It appears that you watched a very different game than most people. Even than most Steelers fans.

Actually, we both know that you're here to get your adrenaline pumped up. Try going for a run instead.

19. No I just like rubbing it in their face after they talked themselves up
For two weeks before the game. And now they lost. And I'm enjoying seeing them whine and bitch and piss and moan that it was "bad officiating." Blah, blah, blabbety, blah. YOU LOST!

LOL!

Maturity is a wonderful thing. I hope you find it someday.

6. I think they'll score 13.
First and late 2nd quarter field goals, finished off with a touchdown late in the 4th quarter to make it a respectable loss. Pittsburgh 24 Seattle 13.

MVP- Troy Polamalu. A sack, a pick or two and a BIG hit on Alexander.

7. The spread and over/under projects Seattle at 21.5 points
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 05:11 AM by Awsi Dooger
Just for reference purposes. As a 4 point underdog with a total of 47, that equates to Pittsburgh 25.5, Seattle 21.5.

That's always a handy way to look at things if you're contemplating a wager. Sometimes the base projection indeeds looks way off for one side so if your handicap is correct you have an edge. In this case, if I was certain Seattle's output would be closer to 10 than 21.5 or 22 and maybe willing to risk a few bucks, I would try to find a -3.5 on Pittsburgh and bet the Steelers and the under, looking for maybe a 47.5 or 48. I could only lose both bets if my handicap was way off and Seattle scored plenty. A parlay of Pittsburgh and the under would also be sensible. Of course, in the Super Bowl they have props galore so it's possible just to wager on Seattle under the projected points of 21.5 or 22. You can also take specific ranges, and probably get high odds on Seattle being shut out, scoring less than 6, scoring 10 or less, and so on.

12. Much of the time.
Unfortunately, such nonsensical behavior is now considered culturally adept. We have always been easily entertained, and now we easily entertain ourselves by copying the entertainers.

9. I assume he meant "more than 10 points"
Blown chances and questionable officiating, but good call regardless.

I had the under, never really in jeopardy.

10. Congrats Steelers Fans!
I was rooting for your team, or at least against Paul Allen and Company.

Alas, I wish I could say I was happy for the Steelers themselves, but watching this game was like watching the many bizarre Italian championships won by Juventus over the years. It certainly leaves one scratching one's head regarding the integrity of the NFL.
