Mark Mulder is in for tonight (Card's)
I hope it's not the nerve shattering type of game that we had the other night. Even though that turned out exciting, I don't think we could go through another one like that so soon after.

1. I'm having a defibrillator sent over.
I like Mulder, but Oswalt scares me. Actually, Oswalt scares me more than Clemens.

2. A defibrillator, now there's a good idea
Oswalt is a frightening choice, considering that this game is of paramount importance to us :scared: Oswalt's record is very impressive. We can only hope that Pujols and Eckstein are once again on the ball.

By the 6th Inning, I'm hoping that we're all not nervous wrecks. I've got my Rolaids close by, I already know I'm going to need them.

Are we all ready to rumble? The clock is ticking...it's Tequila, A&W and Hail Mary's time.

And Eckstein got hit by a pitch :(

Fuck, we're 3-0 down now, Lane just homered :( :( I hate him. We're giving ourselves a mountain again.

I wanted Mulder to stay.

Why is it all going wrong AGAIN, where have I put my Excedrin extra strength?

14. I don't get it.
Every time I flip to the game, the Astros are up.

This just sucks.

Fucking Astros...I'm sure they molest farm animals. Positive.

Edited on Wed Oct-19-05 09:38 PM by ...of J.Temperance
Great, I'm expecting Tavarez and King next. I'm thinking all sorts of things, I'm wearing half a tin foil hat even.

This is completely bizarre.

16. Why go to Marquis anyway? He sucks.
I'd have gone to Flores, then Tavarez, King and Izzy.

Oh, to have Reyes now. He had surgery today. :(

Are we deliberately blowing this? I always suspected we deliberately blew it against the Red Sox last year.

Marquis, Tavarez and King really need to be off loaded.

19. Of course...we shot our wad metaphorically in Houston.
I just don't understand how a team that plays half the season is now better than a team that won 100 games.

I'm suggesting this for next year. Just tank the first half, and then get hot. Being the best team all year isn't worth shit.

20. This is something we need to put to LaRussa
You're onto a winning strategy. We're better than the Astros, this is pathetic.

Also, they're sticking with Oswalt and we're playing EVERYBODY and their Uncle Joe and with each one the Astros seem to score again.

21. They did the same thing last year, and it almost got them to the series.
Now we'll have to endure all the Biggio/Bagwell FINALLY get their chance bullshit. Well...bully for them. I'll be happy later. Right now I'm pissed.

22. If this doesn't work out
We'll have to hope the White Sox put them in their place. At this moment, we're almost static, and it's an uphill battle, but you never know.

What we need is some deep breathes, and to calm down and not get too pissed, okay?

24. Well
Deep down, so am I, but I don't want to give up hope. We share in the pain, the only thing worse than this, that'd be if we were losing to the Yankees.

25. His teams have choked so many times in the playoffs.
As many good teams as he's had, they've won 1 world series.

Sigh...I know it's not over 'til it's over, but I can hear the fat lazy warming up...

26. With regret
We've got to call it, we're not going to do it, it's over for another year. I'm getting tired of us being the best team and then blowing it when we NEED to play like the best team.

Hell, WHAT another disappointment. That fat lady is gargling and getting ready to sing.

We've always got next year...trying to find something positive out of a DEPRESSING night. One thing's for sure, LaRussa is no Herzog.

Hell, I suppose we're going to have to be hearing the Astros fans going on and on and on about this now.

31. I arrived
Back from Texas a week and a half ago, it was crazy enough during the Longhorns-OU game, actually my friend and I had a car accident during the run-up to that game...but we think that was because there were SO many hyper Oklahoma people invading the place (they might as well have stayed in Oklahoma, given the result) So, yes, I imagine that now the Astros are in the WS it's going to be crazy like that x 1000.

Keep the faith, don't let them get to you :)
