4. Prayer for Mayor Daley.....

Please do NOT turn on the air raid sirens tonight to celebrate a victory.

Your father scared the crap out of me in my extreme youth, back in the good old days of duck-and-cover. I cannot take it a second time.

Thanks for listening.

5. Astros vs Sox= network nightmare
Edited on Sun Oct-16-05 08:05 PM by TomInTib
ratings disaster

At least those of us watching will be true fans of either team or just the game itself.

Small ball won't work against the Astros. It will take power. Cards are 3for20-something with runners in scoring position.

I am looking forward to a really fun Series.

6. Sox don't play small ball
They hit 200 HR's this year and have been living off of early Konerko dingers in this series.

In fact, apart from the 2-1 Pierzynski-Gate game, the Sox have a big home run (or more than one) in each game they've won this postseason.

7. Yeah, and Sox pitchers will probably tear the cover off the ball
against Astros pitching. Look at what the Cards did during the season versus what is happening to them right now.
Bagwell will be Astro DH during the not-really-baseball games.

15. Look Ma, it's a National League snob
It's ok, no matter how many All-Star games you lose in a row (8 and counting), and no matter how many times you lose in (interleague play 221-263 vs. the AL the last two years), you still have the consolation of watching pitchers try to hit.

PS: If the Astros have a chance, it's because they have two ex-Yankees in the rotation.

10. Well at least the best team in the league will be in the World Series.
More than I can say for the National League. x(

Oh and by "best", I mean best all season...not teams that wake up at the All-Star break...yes, I'm bitter, so don't ask.

12. At least the Cardinals have won a World Series in my lifetime.
They should have won another in 1985...but that's another issue. Oh, and 1987...stupid Homerdome. But, at least I have 1982. :)

19. Normally that is right.
But the "discretion" of the umpires gave the Angels the run.

My rule of thumb is that if your guys are fielding - stay back.
