Rudy, I thought God would help ND today?

Rudy told us that God would help ND win today. What happened Rudy? So is God not omnipotent when it comes to football? Or is Rudy just another superstitious idiot that got a bit carried away? I think the latter is more plausible. It was a great football game. Both teams are to be congratulated. Let's quit demeaning a decent game by keeping God out of it.

2. He should have asked Our Lady to gently nag Her Son to win this game for

As I remember my old Catholic youth and reading of the old saints' tales, the person who had those most effective way to make God act in their favor was the one who pleaded with Our Lady to ask God on his/her behalf. God just couldn't refuse Our Lady, or if He was slow to respond, she found a back door to helping the requester.

I think the difference was that USC had players with more experience in winning BIG games, like this one, than our boys did.

But heck! It was a great game! ND players have nothing to be ashamed about. They played their best. The Defense played better than they had before, but unfortunately, they couldn't stop USC at the end.

I too wish my alma mater had won, but under Weis, these kids have improved so much since last year. This game as well as the 4 victories so far definitely show that Notre Dame needed a pro-style coach who can make adjustments DURING the game, not just at half time.

I mean really - just once when some barely literate sanctimonious asshole of an athlete starts giving the victory to god - I want to see a player from the other team say they would have won if it weren't for God hating them. If he wanted the team to win then he wanted the other guys to lose right?
