Houston Astros moving to the Junior Circuit??
If the Astros are forced to move to the American League, they shouldn’t go quietly…or cheaply.

Since a move to the junior league could cost the Astros major dollars, they should hold out for, well, big bucks, or at least a big return.

Some believe that Jim Crane doesn’t have much wiggle room since the other 29 owners could essentially decide his fate even before approving him as the owner of the Houston Astros. But if lame duck owner Drayton McLane has any stroke, he should be championing the Astros 50-year-old status in the National League or serving the list of demands on MLB Commissioner Bud Selig.

Back in 1997 when the Brewers moved to the National League, it was widely considered a positive move for the organization and a winning hand financially. Interestingly, you may recall the Royals had the first oportunity to switch divisions, but turned down the invitation. For Houston, changing leagues would certainly be fraught with risk, especially during a rebuilding period.

2. Any league that uses the designated hitter is a "junior circuit" league!

5. Oddly enough, this "junior league" of which you speak
Has won the World Series a significant number of times more that that other league. Hmm, go figure.

And for eight straight years America's League has bested the League of Losers in interleague play.

7. Any league that defiles the sanctity of baseball by using the
abortion called the designated hitter rule will be referred to as the "junior circuit".

Kind of like man-on-dog defiles the sanctity of politics!

8. Why doesn't a quarterback also play on the defensive line?
Stupid wussbags in the NFL, etc not using the one platoon system.

13. Love the DH
better than seeing some .038 percent pitcher whiff at the ball.

Oh I know---it's strategy in the NL....

BORING except for douchebag old men who yell at kids for being on their lawns.

14. Come on, no one watches the games to see the best players play,
they go to watch the managers manage. Some people might consider a DH hitting with bases loaded to be more exciting than a pitcher hitting .038, but what people REALLY want to see is the double-switch. Every kid grows up dreaming of being an MLB manager, not a player, and they only end up playing because it gives them a chance to learn the game.

Yeah watching the coaches face as he thinks out the old double switch is clearly more exciting than to see than a bases loaded double.
