11. Honestly Mr. Pitt..
The Phins had a pretty nice pre-season...

Don't be surprised if the Phins give the Pat's a game.

3. I'd expect that of the Raiders
'Tis a shame what has become of the once mighty Dolphins. I mean that sincerely.

5. The Marino-led Dolphins?
But come to think of it, that was a while ago.

Damn, time is flying by and I'm getting old.

6. What would happen if they played the Raiders?
Would it be blacked out worldwide? :eyes:

9. Last night they opened the telecast with a plea for ticket purchases
Most pathetic thing I can remember on a local Dolphin broadcast. Play by play guy Dick Stockton was strangely out of the picture when the telecast opened. Instead, you had Bob Griese and Nat Moore standing smack in front of the camera, a much tighter shot than normal. I didn't understand it until the hype began. Griese pitched the team for quite a while then he handed off to Moore who raised his voice and started gesturing like an infomercial pitchman, ending with, "I guarantee it will be an exciting product and you will be entertained."

Finally they allowed Stockton to wobble into the picture. Only at that point was anything said about the game they were about to broadcast, versus the Cowboys.

Griese has to be wondering what he got himself into. He retired from ABC/ESPN college football telecasts to cut down on travel requirements but now as a Dolphin radio guy he's been stuck in two awkward situations in as many weeks. Last Saturday night I literally jumped off my couch in disgust when Mike Dee of the Dolphins announced the team was going to honor the 2008 Gators during the October 23 home game vs. the Broncos. Nat Moore is a Gator alum so naturally he was as clueless as Dee. Both of them were joking around, remarkably ignorant toward the inevitable local backlash. But Bob Griese lives in Coral Gables and was a baseball play by play guy for the Canes during the '80s. One of his pet phrases on ABC was, "that won't go over well." I kept looking at Griese during that Gator announcement. He was completely silent and almost leaden. I guarantee he would have spoken up about it if not employed by the Dolphins.
