Greetings from Omaha and the College World Series.
The new stadium is awesome. I'll have plenty of pics. That South Cackalacky team is a fucking scrappy bunch. They refuse to lose. Texas - NC tomorrow.

3. What an atmosphere!
They have party tents all around the stadium. Just walk in and have a beer (no alcohol in TD Ameritrade). It's just a short walk to the Old Market for a great steak and more grog. No rain yet, era. Beautiful last night.

5. Does the Minor League team play in that stadium too?
If so, they should probably allow alcohol when they play. I know that during an NCAA sanctined event there is no alcohol allowed (just alcohol advertisements) but during legally professional sporting events, there is always alcohol served.
And can California pull off a win? That is an amazing story in my opinion.

7. I believe they do, Bluz.
Rosenblatt is still standing. There was talk of possibly playing at the old stadium if the Missouri floodwaters approached Ameritrade but I have noticed nothing dire with exception of the occasional sandbag. I think Cal, unfortunately will go home tomorrow. Texas A&M has too many bats. Cal was not impressive yesterday against Virginny.

10. The Omaha Storm Chasers (formally Royals) now play at Werner Park in Sarpy County.
TD Ameritrade does not have many games. It does have some football.

2. I follow USC player Bryan Harper
On twitter ( he's the newest Nat and Bryce Harper's brother). Interesting to hear about his experiences. Though apparently, he may have a case of food poisoning from a recent tweet..

4. I figure the coaching staff must keep a close eye on what the players eat..
...I doubt their allowed to touch the stadium food. Man. That's all you smell in the place.

I hope they aren't really sick that it was just a bad meal. That would suck.

14. Well, all. If you're staying up to watch the finish of the Vandy-Florida game...
..forget it. The tornado sirens sounded, Ameritrade cleared out and with the look of things, no chance that game resumes tonight. Which means a slew of action tomorrow.

Vastly over-rated. A South Carolina-Florida final. I'm severely depressed, El. I had a ball. Back home now. Back to reality.

23. Well. If we learned one thing about the state of college baseball...
...the SEC towers above all other conferences. The talent level isn't even close.

24. Which is why the sport of college baseball just isn't that popular.
Everything is fine in Omaha. That city supports this event like it needed to survive on it. However, the problem lies deeper. And DU is a microcsm of it all. Many of DU's Sports Forum posters comes from the northern climes. Most universities in these regions have baseball programs. But let's be honest. Not one of these schools has a chance of making it to Omaha. The talent, no matter where they reside, heads to the Sun Belt. I can't tell you how many players on the CWS rosters are from the northern states. But their are a bunch. I saw their hometowns on the jumbotron. My point is, that the success of this sport is purely regional. And until they find a way to improve the non-sun belt schools chances to succeed in this sport, it will remain that way. Such a shame for a great sport.

25. Too bad that BossHog is not around anymore. We used to have arguments
about the SEC and the southern bias in the NCAA Div.1. This rolls perfectly into that argument. It would be interesting to see the SEC teams have to play in the north and not have the advantage of two or three months of additional practice.

27. I tell you what, Jon. TD Ameritrade's first classic!!
I was at the ye olde Sports Column when Hultzen came out at the end of three. Struck out the first six he faced and eight out of nine. And SC's lineup is loaded. Would of been interesting if he stayed. But Virginny had the bases loaded three times in extra innings(no outs in the 12th) and couldn't get it done. Got to give it to the 'Cocks. I enjoy watching them play. Jackie Bradley, Jr. is just clutch.
