I knew Memphis was good
but damn. Even if San Antonio wins 3 in a row, I didn't expect for Memphis to put up a 3-1 lead on a team that won 61 games.

1. There was a reason they "worked" the last week or so of this season.
To set this up.
They knew they matched up well with the Spurs, and now that is evident.

3. I can't figure out if there are a bunch of lakes in Los Angeles
Memphis is considered West because the team was originally in Vancouver and the league didn't feel like rearranging the divisions. At least they are west of the Appalachian mountains.

4. Interesting question
I think the #1 reason is because they were originally in Vancouver which is a far west location. The #2 reason (probably #1) is for balance between the two conferences. 15 in the East/15 in the West.

#3 with the addition of Charlotte Bobcats, the NBA added them as an Eastern team so they switched New Orleans Hornets(formally Charlotte) to the west. What is interesting is, if you look at a map, you'll see Memphis is almost directly north of New Orleans. It is just slightly northeast of New Orleans.

5. Makes sense, but it does make them travel farther for more of their games...
How do they stack up against the Faker/Raper/Lakers, since I'm assuming they will beat the Spurs.

6. Well they are in the Southwest Division

Which consists of trips to New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio which isn't bad given their location but you did say most so I guess trips to LA, Sacramento are rough.

LA is stuck in a tight one currently with New Orleans so they have to get them first but I'm not sure how Memphis stacks up. About 2 months ago there were 3 teams the Suns were trailing for a playoff spot--Memphis, New Orleans, and Portland. I felt out of that group, New Orleans were most likely to fall and Portland was the best. I think one of LA's strengths is there big men and I feel Memphis has pretty good big men (Gasol's brother & Randolph(who was Player of the month this past month)) but LA's big men are far better. Besides those 2, Mike Conley is very good at getting points & assists. Other than those 3, I don't know. Not satisfied with their depth.

It should be an interesting run for them.

7. I think the Fakers will beat Nawlins, it might even go the full 7,
but I think LA gets out of this...of course, Memphis and the Fakers wouldn't meet until the western finals, and I think Memphis has to play OKC next...can't see them beating them...and I think OKC would beat the lakers. LA is good, but old and not motivated like in the past.

8. Game 5 was epic
a thrilling overtime win by the Spurs.

Hopefully my Spurs can pull off a win in Memphis. That place will be chaotic and full of energy.
