Some suggestions for future Florida Marlins promotions?
Such a great team deserves better attendance. The ones they have are pretty lame such as "All You Can Eat Seats".

Let's give them some better ideas! Here are two of mine:

Presidente Fulgencio Batista Bobble Head Night
Ricky Martin leather pants giveaway day

Rays Expect Increase In Attendance After Filling City With Hissing Snakes

February 22, 2011

In the SportsDome, we told you about Tampa Bay's plan to fill Tropicana Field by unleashing thousands of snakes in the streets of Tampa and St. Petersburg, making the home of the Rays the only snake-free zone in the area. Rays General Manager Andrew Friedman expected the move to pay big dividends, saying, "nothing will get the people of Tampa in the mood for baseball like stepping out of bed in the morning, directly into a pile of writhing snakes."

Here are the plans for the snake-drop, which show how packs of snakes will drive people through Tampa, into Tropicana Field:

8. What Jeff Passan said this afternoon:
Declining crowds have teams seeking solutions

7. The Florida Marlins, who on an 83-degree, partly cloudy Sunday afternoon possibly the most perfect baseball weather possible sold 11,442 tickets to the game at Land Shark Stadium. Even fewer people were there to witness Mike Stantons monster home run off the best team in the National League, Colorado.

Surely it being Easter didnt help, and the Marlins crowd of 35,381 on Saturday was excellent. The night before that, though, they drew just 15,069, and the idea of baseball succeeding in Florida remains a dream. The Marlins rank 27th in attendance. The Tampa Bay Rays are 28th.

Finally well get a litmus test next season as the Marlins open their new stadium. Taxpayers hate the deal. Politicians feel swindled by the team. And even as the Marlins won two World Series, fans embraced them with all the warmth of a peck on the cheek. Thats what the Marlins are to Miami: just another thing, disposable, forgettable, there. Theyve yet to crack the sheen

12. 1 lucky winner gets a major league contract.
the League minimum is 400,000, which prorated for a single game would be about $2,500. If they can bring in 100 fans at $25 per, they break even and some lucky fan can tell a bar story about how he signed with an mlb team.
