TAMPA, Fla. -- Yankees co-chairman Hank Steinbrenner says baseball's revenue sharing and luxury tax programs need changes, and that commissioner Bud Selig is open to the idea.

Steinbrenner said on Monday that he doesn't know what the final figure is, but expects the Yankees' 2010 payments for the two to total about $130 million.

"We've got to do a little something about that, and I know Bud wants to correct it in some way," Steinbrenner said. "Obviously, we're very much allies with the Red Sox and the Mets, the Dodgers, the Cubs, whoever in that area."

"At some point, if you don't want to worry about teams in minor markets, don't put teams in minor markets, or don't leave teams in minor markets if they're truly minor," Steinbrenner said. "Socialism, communism, whatever you want to call it, is never the answer."

1. "...don't put teams in minor markets..."
Someone remind this asshole Cleveland was a charter member of the American League.

And by the way, I'm sure Hank's players are thrilled over his assessment of their 2010 play: "I think, maybe, they celebrated too much last year," Steinbrenner said Monday. "Some of the players, too busy building mansions and doing other things and not concentrating on winning. I have no problem saying that."

He said that today. Link: http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/news/story?id=6145286

Like father, like son. Or much, much worse?

I'm with you Redbear.

5. As a Yanks fan that's on a few Yankee fan forums, so far no one on any of those forums support Hank.
His comments make him look like an idiot is the consensus of most of those Yankee fans. Thankfully, his more rational and quieter brother is running the show. but we still have to put up with Hank's dumbass comments from time to time.

6. The classic example of lucky sperm
this guy like someone else we know(W) is a complete loser. If Bush wasn't his name he would be the electronics manager at Walmart and Steinbreener would be a short order cook at Waffle house.

10. Greed turns people into monsters
Look at the Koch Brothers -- especially now. I know they were monsters before, but now they're, uh, super-monsters?

12. Brewers. Thanks goodness Selig is gone from Milwaukee. If only he would leave baseball.

13. The Yankees
Not a big fan of Selig, but I don't put much faith in hearsay from Mr. Steinbrenner.

The Brewers would likely be considered one of the small market teams that he was speaking about.
