Limbaugh on golf: 'Liberals would have a tough time with this game'
Renowned swing coach Hank Haney survived Charles Barkley in the first season. He traded one-liners with comedian Ray Romano in the second season. Now, Haney is in charge of talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh as the third installment of The Haney Project premieres Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET on the Golf Channel. (See clip above.) Limbaugh recently talked with USA Today's Steve DiMeglio about his love for golf, his one-on-one time with Haney and whether conservatives or liberals make better golfers.

What is it about golf that drew you to the game and keeps you coming back to the first tee?
For me, it's the constant challenge to myself to get better at something that I'm not naturally good at. And the ancillary stuff -- you're always with friends, you're always at a beautiful place, and it's always a great, great time. But the main reason is that the game to me is challenging. The ball does not move. It looks like it would be the easiest thing in the world to do, but for me, it's one of the most difficult things to do.

Is that why you agreed to do the show?
I've never had the opportunity for this kind of coaching. This is boot camp. I'm on his range in Dallas for six hours without a break with one club -- the 7-iron. I've been playing the game 13 years, and everything I was doing was thrown out. It was like starting all over again. It was challenging, far more than I thought it would be.

I loved watching Sir Charles and Hank.....WILL NOT WATCH LIMBALLS. :puke:

1. LOL
"Golf is an individual game. It's about self-reliance. There is no team. You can't depend on a government regulation or a grant or a subsidy to help you."

:eyes:

I agree golf is very difficult but those aren't the reasons why.

13. The greens fees helps keep the riff raff out? Is that Windbag's reason?

4. If the fat Republicon draft dodger would lay off the drugs
his game might improve. Might. But then arrogant assholery is a real impediment.

I'm pretty sure I once read some remarks of his on the loneliness of being a Dem on tour.

10. I Guarantee I'm Better Than Limbaugh at Golf
Edited on Wed Jan-12-11 11:53 AM by ProfessorGAC
Haney working with me would be all refinement and detail and would make for bad TV. The reason why he is now the subject of the Haney project is because he's terrible at golf.

Notice how they don't have Tony Romo on there working with Hank Haney. They have people with bad swings and horrible focus and concentration. That fits Limbaugh like a glove.
