Poll question: Suppose Vick was signed by your team and turned it into a contender... would you still follow them?
Edited on Sun Nov-21-10 11:32 AM by Auggie
Coming from a fan whose own problems with team QBs (Alex Smith, JeMarcus Russell, Brady Quinn, et al) are legendary, I'd still say NO WAY.

What says the Sports Forum?

1. No, I wouldn't.
Though to be fair, if you had asked me during the Tony Eason years my answer may have been different. :)

2. For a while there, it was a possibility.
That's a hypothetical bullet I'm happy to dodge.

3. I'm not going to stop following an entire team
over one guy. Anyway, Vick has served his time, and though I don't think his mindset has really changed, his views that dog fighting is not that big of a deal is common throughout the world of sports. What am I going to do?

4. I'd follow even if they weren't a contender.

8. Yes, it is currently happening.
Hate him personally, love what he's doing on the field. I just want to win a frigging Super Bowl.

9. At least you are honest about it
The "win at any cost" shit drives me crazy, but I'll give you props for not pushing the "he's a hero, he redeemed himself!" bullshit- someone told me that the announcers at the game compared him to WW2 veterans...BARF BARF BARF...
I have to say, I've been a Skins fan for almost 30 years and I WOULD boycott my team if they signed him. And maybe Terrell Owens. Or Roethelisburger.

10. I hate to stick up for TO, but he's not in the same league as the dog killer and the alleged rapist
he's just an asshole. Vick is a convicted felon, and the jury's still out on Roethlisberger. BIG difference

11. TO is a team killer
We had teams full of prima donnas before - never worked. All three have the same problem IMO - unchecked arrogance. Don't like it in real life, don't like it on politics and hate it in sports. I really can't stomach his antics- you know you can add DeShaun Jackson on that list. I just want to punch him everytime I see him. I'm old skool that way.
