Kurt Coleman Will Not Be Fined For Austin Collie Hit
With all the fines that have been levied for illegal or helmet-to-helmet hits, the hit that Philadelphia Eagle Kurt Coleman put on Indianapolis Colt Austin Collie seemed that a fine would be coming Coleman's. However, NFL.com's Jason LaCanfora is reporting that no fine is coming because the contact was a result of being driven toward a defender caused by a prior hit, so there is no fine for that type of hit.

Good. As for the flag, what is the defender supposed to do? He caught the ball and went low to prepare for the hit, plus the other Eagles defender shifted Collie enough to where Coleman's helmet hit Collie's.

1. I clicked the channel, never to return, when they called a penalty on that play
Current NFL is barely recognizable. I'd outlaw passing and penalties and Goodell.

2. That call was so bad
I kept thinking, "he better not get fined." So I followed the story and kept checking for updates. Doing that I ran into a couple of opinion piece suggesting, "Something has to be done" about the hits. I kept thinking to myself, "What?". What can they really do about the game to prevent Collie from getting hurt like that? Either ban the NFL or put some kind of 5 yard rule the receiver has to advance before someone can legally touch him.

Here is an example: http://chicago.sbnation.com/2010/11/7/1800022/nfl-austin-collie-concussion-indianapolis-colts

3. Yeah---knee jerk call by the Refs...
Collie became a runner once he caught the ball....and yes I think he caught the ball.
