Chicago White Sox Plan To Claim Manny Ramirez Off Waivers
Edited on Tue Aug-24-10 04:06 PM by Yavin4
White Sox plan to claim Manny:

The White Sox, who pursued Ramirez before the non-waiver deadline, will claim him with the intention of acquiring him, according to a major-league source.

The Dodgers have yet to put Ramirez on waivers, but that move is expected as early as Tuesday. National League teams would get the first crack at claiming Ramirez, but none would be expected to take such a step.

The White Sox, whose record is the worst of the AL contenders, seemingly would be in good position to win the claim. However, they could back off claiming Ramirez if the Dodgers delayed putting him on waivers and the White Sox’s deficit in the AL Central grew from 41/2 games.

5. Maybe he'll be decent at first for Chicago like he was decent at first
for the Dudgers...he was despearte to prove the Red Sox wrong, how he was wonderful and they didn't appreciate him, now it's about time he plays that same game with the Dudgers.

7. He will never see the field
At least not from the outfield. He will be strictly a DH and for a month, could very well help the Sox. Him along with Konerko could be just the power punch they need.
