Open Letter to Cavaliers Majority Owner Dan Gilbert from Trumad
Edited on Fri Jul-09-10 07:24 AM by trumad
First off---you're a crybaby fucking loser.

Seven fucking years ago your franchise had the number one pick in the draft because of----- well you were 17-65. IE: Your franchise fucking sucked.

That number one pick saved your crap team from becoming the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Detroit Lions of the basketball world.

That number one pick led your team to consecutive playoff appearances from 2006 through 2010----and led your team to the Conference Finals (2007) for the first time since 1992 and to the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history.

That number one pick put millions of dollars into your pocket the last 7 years and yet you call him a fucking coward?

You Sir are the very definition of a Douchebag.

You and your management team had seven years to build a championship winning team around your Superstar but you failed big time.

Funny how the Lakers have done it with Koby...or how the Bulls did it with Jordan. I'm guessing your number one pick, the pick who single handily carried your team for the last 7 seasons began to realize that you had no idea how to build a championship team and that it was time to move to a management team that had a clue. Oh yeah---Pat Riley knows how to win championships.

Oh---and your hilarious quote guaranteeing a championship for Cleveland before the Heat wins one with your former number one pick....

My advice---don't write an emotional letter after drinking a full bottle of Macallan 25.

Yours truly,

trumad

1. The Lebron haters are coming out of the woodwork on this one.
I am actually becoming a fan of James now.

3. Great letter
Listening to Sports Talk this morning was awful. Mike Greenberg is acting like this was the worst thing Lebron could ever do to the city of Cleveland. But if Lebron would have gone to New York, you wanna bet these sorry guys would be going crazy right now. He chose the best team where he could win a championship. "You play to win the game!!"

4. Nobody mentions that he left 30 mill on the table
leaving Cleveland. Cleveland would have given him up to 30 million more than any team on a long term deal.

The dude wants a couple of rings and he decided to try it with Pat Riley rather than Dan crybaby Gilbert.

5. Yeah well, Cleveland's owner isn't the only one
who doesn't think much of this decision. I was listening to Mike and Mike earlier and they were roasting him. He's a traitor, he turned his back on the area he grew up in. He'll be booed everywhere he plays. And then you've got stuff like this:

8. What does he owe the city of Cleveland??
They won him in a lottery. The year before he was there, they were pathetic. He put that team on the map. If anything, they owe him and they owed him a better team than what he was given.

15. Strange the way you've become a big Lebron defender
just overnight. No bandwagon for the amateur detective..nosiree :eyes:

Lebron turned his back on what is essentially his hometown.. how far is Akron from Cleveland, about 30-40 miles? And for some reason, he felt it necessary to string this out and rub Cleveland's nose in it on national TV.

What a selfish ungrateful jerk.

You should know that because he's the real king.

11. If i think leBron "Meltdown during the Playoffs" James made an ass of himself.
...then call me a hater.

Get used to having 3 great arrogant players who will never win a title.

12. LeBron tried to stay in Cleveland
I think that if even one star had wanted to join him in Cleveland, LeBron would have stayed.

Unfortunately for Gilbert, Bosh didn't want to play there. I thought I was going to wake up today thinking LeBron was a jerk for leaving Cleveland, even if he joined my beloved Heat. But after reading that tripe from their owner, I can understand why he left.

21. They dumped their coach because he wasn't a very good coach.
If James had to demand they get rid of Brown in order for them to actually do it, I can see why he might think Cleveland management doesn't know how to put together a championship team.

19. I agree with Trumad
The Cavaliers missed a golden opportunity with James.

Regarding James, no one likes the way it was done, but no one can deny he has the right to choose where he plays under current NBA rules.

20. He was prepared to give that "quitter/coward" a whole lot of money
to stay is Cleveland. Lebron took less money to get out of Cleveland. That should tell you all you need to know.

22. Yeah---less to play for a championship
If you know anthing about B-Ball then you'd know Cleveland was regressing instead of progressing.
