http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/C... For the past couple of seasons, Vincent Jackson(notes) has finally given the San Diego Chargers a reliable Pro Bowl-caliber player at the wide receiver position. It's something that the Chargers haven't had since ... Tony Martin? Anthony Miller? And apparently, the Chargers aren't enjoying the experience.
Word from Kevin Acee at the San Diego Union-Tribune is that the Chargers are listening to trade offers for Jackson. The short version of the story is that Jackson wants a big-money, long-term deal, the Chargers aren't willing to give it to him, so Jackson doesn't want to play for the Chargers anymore.
The Chargers seem OK with that. From Acee:
No one is predicting he will be shipped off soon, and it does not appear other teams have been officially notified the Pro Bowl receiver is on the trading block. But several sources confirmed the Chargers talked with the Seattle Seahawks earlier this month and have made it known Jackson will remain available.
The Seahawks maintain interest, as do “several other teams,” according to one source. Among those teams, sources said, are the Washington Redskins. It is not known whether the Redskins have spoken to the Chargers regarding Jackson.
